Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Manager to join our team who is an experienced (6-10 years), driven, and charismatic professional excited to help shape, lead, sell, and grow the Global Affairs vertical at a fast-growing and innovative company. You will join Duco to lead, manage, and scale revenue and client acquisition; lead external engagement and partnerships strategy; and help form, refine, and pitch solutions on topics across the Technology sector–ranging from AI to tech policy to geopolitics and more.
You will report to Duco’s Director of Global Affairs, Sofía Arimany, and work with the Client Accounts team, prospective clients, and experts to design strategies and drive high-impact company priorities. Externally, you will represent Duco and build relationships with multiple stakeholders.
Areas of Responsibility
The Manager will be responsible for driving business development strategy, designing solutions with minimal oversight (in line with Client demand), assisting with targeting and reporting, and securing new business. This role is meant to be a key driver, innovator, and partner on strategic activities for the vertical and tasks related to elevating the Duco brand. You will engage Fortune 1000 companies, fast-growing internet and technology companies, and organizations focused on solving global technology challenges. Business Development: activities focusing on company revenue growth.
- Identify New Client Opportunities: Generate and engage leads to other potential clients, including new companies and teams.
- Guide Growth & the Business: Consistently provide strategic input to Duco leadership and colleagues.
- Design New, Tailored Solutions: Develop and sell new products and services, working with colleagues and experts to architect curated client solutions.
External Engagement: activities focusing on representing Duco.
- Identify New Branding Opportunities: Work with the team to identify new avenues to elevate the Duco brand and implement strategic input.
- Amplify the Duco Brand: Engage a broad network of tech policy innovators, leading thinkers, and experts and amplify our communications strategy through marketing efforts, which may include social media and other channels.
- Improve Our Technology: Provide strategic input on Duco’s proprietary online platform product and external website; pass strategic input and meaningful feedback to the product and engineering teams.
Team Operations: activities focusing on internal sales processes and people management.
- Support Existing Workflows: Support the Global Affairs team with tracking and reporting lead generation, during meetings, and other key operational processes.
- Collect & Optimize Data, Feedback: Develop mechanisms to track and measure success, and deploy better approaches and best practices; constantly improve your programs and processes.
- Sustain High-Impact Activities: Evaluate, measure, and recalibrate to ensure we optimize value to Global Affairs team activities, focus on the right kind of growth, and allocate resources to achieve our goals. Work with Duco executives to map out company growth, team development, and sales milestones.
Key Qualifications
A great candidate for this position should have experience in business development and engaging in the sales process, overseeing growth programs and projects, managing and developing teams, and crafting executive-ready work products. Leading candidates will have:
- A desire to do something new and drive the growth of a young and fast-growing company to scale.
- 6+ years of experience in any of the following areas - business development, sales, consulting, program management, data analysis, tech policy, internal operations, or another relevant role of substance in the technology sector.
- Exceptional self-management skills, capable of operating with high autonomy while proactively managing complex, cross-functional responsibilities including proposal development, lead generation, and strategic company initiatives.
- Intellectual curiosity and rapidly developing expertise in emerging and complex topics – specifically around new technologies, geopolitics, user safety, and regulation.
- Agility to seamlessly transition between structured, recurring activities and dynamic, ad-hoc projects across business development, external engagement, and team operations.
- Ability to brief Duco executives and external stakeholders on the information needed to make critical decisions and enable strategic dialogues.
- Ability to consolidate and communicate large amounts of sometimes complex information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.

Location & Hours
Duco's headquarters is in the Mission neighborhood in San Francisco, CA. We operate on a hybrid work model: all employees are required to work from the office two designated days per week and may work remotely the other days. Employees attend about three week-long offsites each year. Occasional travel and other in-person activities, conferences, trainings, etc., may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
You will receive a generous combination of salary, bonus, stock options, and access to a 401k and FSA plan. Additionally, Duco offers to pay 100% of employees’ healthcare plan premiums, which include medical and dental, and $1,000 per year towards professional development opportunities of your choice. Approved vacation is unlimited. Duco is closed at least 15 days per year, including the day after Thanksgiving and the full week between Christmas and New Year's Day.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $95,0000-$120,000, and you are eligible to receive a bonus based on individual and company performance. Our salary ranges are determined by a variety of factors including the functions of the role, experience, and geographic location. The range displayed on the job posting indicated the minimum and maximum target for a new hire into this position. Within the stated range, individual pay will be determined by additional factors, including job-specific skills, professional experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation range listed above reflects only the base salary, and does not factor monetary value of bonus, equity, or benefits.
